In Bali, the Rwa Bhineda philosophy teaches us that balance comes from understanding that there is no joy without sorrow, no night without day, and no good without bad. This concept is symbolized by the alternating black and white squares of the saput poleng cloth, reminding us of the harmony found in life’s contrasts.
